Omar El Arjoun joins Stephenson Harwood’s tax team in Paris
Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its tax practice with the arrival of Omar El Arjoun as partner in its Paris office.
El Arjoun brings more than 10 years of experience advising public and private companies, investment and management companies, banks and individuals on a range of tax transactional areas, including real estate, M&A and private equity transactions, and fund formations and management. He also advises high wealth individuals on their personal tax issues, and has significant experience in tax audits, negotiations with the French tax authorities and tax litigations.
“During the last year we’ve been focused on growing our capabilities in Paris, with the ambition of creating a full-service European hub for the firm,” said Nicolas Demigneux, Stephenson Harwood’s office managing partner in Paris. “In that time, we’ve been joined by seven new partners and established four new practices. As our corporate, funds formation and ship finance teams in particular have grown, we’ve seen the demand for top tier tax advice grow too. Not only is Omar’s knowledge and expertise a natural fit for Stephenson Harwood, his practice aligns with our areas of focus. His addition to the team ensures we’re able to continue to deliver the very best tax support that our growing client base requires.”
El Arjoun is the seventh partner to have joined the Paris office since the beginning of 2021. In this time, the firm has been joined by corporate partner Julien Vandenbussche, IP partner Boriana Guimberteau, private equity partner Clotilde Billat, finance partner Laurence Hanley, employment partner Soazig Préteseille and competition partner Jean-Julien Lemonnier.
Stephenson Harwood’s international tax practice advises clients on all aspects of tax, from business and company sales and group restructurings, through to real estate and financing transactions, funds, private wealth and tax disputes.
