Blick Rothenberg appoints raft of tax partners
Blick Rothenberg has appointed five new Partners in three key areas – Private Client, VAT and Global Mobility.
Gabby Donald joins the firm as a Partner and has specialised in VAT for more than 20 years – she started her career at HMRC and has worked in roles across the Big 4 and industry.
Gabby said: “I am a Chartered Tax Adviser and chair of the CIOT’s indirect taxes committee. I have a particular specialism in VAT for the financial services sector and have worked with both industry and professional bodies on a wide variety of VAT policy issues in recent years, including consultations with HMRC and HM Treasury on the scope of VAT exemptions, reliefs and other policy changes.”
Helen Humphries who has become a Partner in Private Client, has a career of in excess of 20 years. She was previously a director at BDO UK LLP.
Helen said: “I advise and support across the full private client field in respect of both UK and international high net worth individuals, families and trustees. The tax landscape is changing for non-domiciled individuals and their families and whilst the ‘how’ is yet to be defined, it is clear that the impact will be significant and far reaching – and not just for the individuals. I am looking forward to helping people navigate this new landscape.”
Phil Barrett who has become a Partner in Corporate Tax has 20 years’ experience with Grant Thornton and 15 years with EY.
Phil said: “I bring a wealth of experience to Blick Rothenberg and am really looking forward to helping BR grow its corporate tax offering for its mid-market clients and targets. I will be supporting design and execute their tax strategy, ensuring that tax opportunities are fully exploited, whilst their tax risks are mitigated.”
Malli Kini who has become a Partner in the Private Client team has worked over 15 years in the Big 4 (PwC and EY) within their London private client teams.
Malli said: “I provide tax advice to entrepreneurs (across their personal and company matters), other high-net-worth individuals, shareholders, trusts and family offices. I am taking a lead role for the entrepreneurs practice at the firm. Although I am a tax specialist at heart, I spend much of my time acting as a sounding board for my clients on both tax and non-tax/commercial matters.”
Tomm Adams, who leads the International Pensions and Benefits advisory service has become a Partner in Global Mobility. Tomm honed his expertise in the Big 4 global mobility consulting team and a major benefits consultancy firm.
Tomm said: “HR professionals are under pressure from hiring managers to offer competitive and innovative employee benefits that will seal the deal with the best candidates, which isn’t easy when operating internationally – and dealing with constantly evolving regulation across the globe. Clients welcome the clarity my team brings, enabling them to understand the pensions and benefits landscape across their footprint.”
Nimesh Shah, CEO of the firm said: “I am personally delighted to welcome Gabby, Phil, Malli, Helen and Tomm to Blick Rothenberg. Gabby, Phil, Malli and Helen represent our continued investment in the best talent in our award-winning Corporate Tax and Private Client teams, whilst Tomm, with his experience in international employment tax, international benefits and expatriate pensions will help grow and expand the services offered by our fast-growing Global Mobility offering. The strategic recruitment of five partners into Blick Rothenberg is an important element of our plans to build the #1 accountancy and tax advisory firm in London for international inbounds, the UK mid-market and private clients.”
