haysmacintyre appoints new Head of Private Client: Majid Hussain
haysmacintyre has today announced the appointment of Majid Hussain as a Partner and its new Head of Private Client. He will join the firm on Monday 15 July.
Majid joins haysmacintyre from Evelyn Partners, where he was a Partner, and brings a wealth of experience across all areas of private client tax. Both a qualified tax advisor and barrister, Majid previously held roles at BDO, Deloitte and KPMG, and has particular expertise in advising international families with complex overseas structures, with former clients including private equity executives, professional sportspeople, leading entrepreneurs, and family offices.
Majid takes over the role of Head of Private Client from Katharine Arthur, who successfully led the department for 11 years, and Co-Head of Private Client, Andrew Broome. Both Katharine and Andrew remain prominent Partners in the Private Client team, and will continue to work closely with Majid in his role, as he leads the team to further develop and expand haysmacintyre’s Private Client service lines.
His appointment continues a strong period of growth for haysmacintyre, which has appointed and promoted seven new Partners over the last 18 months.
Commenting on his appointment, Majid Hussain, Partner and Head of Private Client at haysmacintyre said: “I am delighted to be joining haysmacintyre as Head of Private Client at what is an exciting time for growth at the firm. The team’s reputation for client service speaks for itself and it was no surprise to see the firm recognised as one of The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work for 2024.
“At a time where there is so much uncertainty around the UK tax system, including with the non-domiciled regime, there will of course be challenges ahead for many private clients and international families. I look forward to tackling these issues with a team that excels at providing proactive solutions for clients, both in the current, evolving landscape and in future.”
Commenting on the appointment, Natasha Frangos, Managing Partner at haysmacintyre, said: “We are very excited to have Majid joining the firm. New leadership helps to inject fresh thinking and energy, supporting our aim to continuously improve and evolve haysmacintyre’s offering across all service lines and sectors.
“Majid brings with him hugely valuable experience and I am confident he will help the Private Client team continue to build on its excellent track record. I would also like to thank Katharine and Andrew for their service and ongoing support. I’m sure they will continue to play an influential role as the Private Client team expands at haysmacintyre.”
