Menzies LLP announces new partners, including private client tax partner Amy Fry
Menzies LLP has announced six Partner appointments across its Tax, Audit, Deal Advisory, Finance and Risk teams, based in the firm’s Farnborough, Woking, Manchester and Solent offices.
These appointments reflect the firm’s growth trajectory across its national advisory network and adds senior capacity and specialist expertise to service lines where client demand is growing fastest.
The new appointments include:
- Amy Fry, Private Client Tax Partner, based in Menzies’ Farnborough office
- Miriam Hanley, Audit Partner, based in the firm’s Woking office
- Zoe Fitchett, Audit Partner, based in Menzies’ Manchester office
- Richard Singleton, Finance Partner, based in the firm’s Woking office
- Martin Baird, Technology Risk Partner, based in the firm’s Manchester office
- Rob Holmes, Deal Advisory Partner, based in Menzies’ Solent office
Menzies has promoted three partners across its Tax and Audit teams, with specialisms covering private client tax, audit, financial services and the recruitment and legal sectors. Each Partner has built their career at Menzies or joined through the firm’s merger with Beever and Struthers, reflecting sustained investment in developing talent from within.
Amy Fry becomes a Private Client Tax Partner, having first joined Menzies as an accounting apprentice in 2001. Amy works with individuals, families and business owners on inheritance tax planning and property-related matters, building long-term relationships to advise on how to protect and grow wealth through practical, tailored advice. Much of that work involves resolving complex enquiries, supporting clients through company sales and other significant life events, founded on the principle that advising the individual behind a business matters just as much as advising the business itself.
Alongside this achievement, Amy has recently qualified to provide Probate services and actively supports the firm’s charitable initiatives, to date including a sky jump, marathon walk, and soon, a Tough Mudder challenge.
Simon Massey, Managing Partner at Menzies LLP, said: “These appointments provide clients with more specialist support at a point when regulatory and reporting requirements are moving quickly, and when the assurance a business must evidence now reaches past its financial statements and into the technology and governance behind them. This is rarely a task for one discipline alone, and effective advisory support now depends on partners who work closely together rather than within the edges of their own expertise.”
“Several of our newest partners have built their careers here, which is one of the most rewarding aspects of leading the firm and says a great deal about the culture we have worked to build. An independent, partner-led approach remains central to how Menzies operates, with clients dealing directly with the senior people responsible for their advice, and it is that combination of capability and close relationships that will carry us as we continue to scale, while staying true to our Brighter Thinking approach.”
These appointments follow a period of expansion that has taken Menzies past £100 million in combined fee income and more than 1,000 professionals across the UK, supported by its merger with Beever and Struthers and the acquisition of ESG specialists Grain Sustainability.
The firm opened a 100-person office in Gatwick earlier this year and has invested further in its regional hubs and advisory teams, alongside achieving B Corp™ certification and a third consecutive year in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work.
