Alexandra Minkovich joins Baker & McKenzie in Washington
Alexandra Minkovich, a highly regarded tax attorney in both government and private practice, has joined Baker & McKenzie as Counsel in the Firm’s North American Tax Practice.
Based in Washington, DC, Ms. Minkovich brings over a decade of experience advising on a variety of important tax issues at the legislative and policy level and working with U.S. and multinational clients on tax controversy issues in the financial services and other industries. She most recently served as Associate Tax Legislative Counsel with the U.S. Department of Treasury, Office of Tax Policy. In that role, Alexandra was responsible for governmental and legislative compliance with the Administrative Procedure Act, providing advice with respect to litigation regarding the validity of Treasury and IRS regulations, and advising the Assistant Secretary (Tax Policy) and General Counsel regarding tax policy considerations in regulations and Internal Revenue Bulletin guidance. Prior to joining the Treasury, Ms. Minkovich was in private practice in New York with Dewey & LeBoeuf and Cadwalader Wickersham and Taft.

Ms. Minkovich is the latest in a series of prominent hires for the Tax Practice in North America. Experienced transfer pricing attorney Barbara Mantegani recently joined in Washington, DC, and economists Brian Cromwell and Shane Koball recently joined in Palo Alto and New York, respectively. Renowned M&A lawyer Jerred Blanchard recently joined in Houston and Daniel Rosen joined the Firm’s New York office from the IRS.

Ms. Minkovich received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from Columbia Law School. She received her Masters of Laws in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
