Association of Taxation Technicians announces new officers
The Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) has announced that its new
officers with effect from 2 July will be Annie Bailey, President, David Stedman,
Deputy President, and Simon Braidley, Vice-President.
Annie Bailey joined Council in 1997. Annie qualified as an Associate of the CIOT in
1987, taking first place overall and winning the Institute Medal and the Butterworths
Prize. Chairman of the Examinations Committee with overall responsibility for co-
ordination of the Association’s examinations from July 2000 to July 2007 she has
also chaired the Association’s Technical and Membership and Student Services
Committees, and represented the Association on the Education Committee of the
Institute. Annie is a Senior Tax and Trust Services Manager with Menzies, based in
Leatherhead, Surrey, specialising in the taxation and administration of trusts and
estates.
David Stedman joined Council in 2001. David successfully passed the November
1992 examination and became a member of the Association in June 1993. He is self-
employed and has been a registered member in practice since the scheme
commenced in April 1997. David was chairman of Sussex Branch for four years from
1999 to 2003. He is currently Chairman of the Joint Standards Committee and has
been a member of the Members and Student Services Committee since 1998 serving
on the Members in Practice Registration Scheme panel.
Simon Braidley joined Council in 2003. He became a fully qualified member of the
Association in 1998. Simon is employed by Argenta Taxation Consultants in the City
of London and specialises in the Lloyd’s Insurance market. A former Registered
Member in Practice, Simon has also served as Chairman of the Severn Valley
Branch and South West Branches Regional Co-ordinator. He is currently Chairman
of the Members and Student Services Committee and sits on the Members in
Practice Registration panel. Simon also writes the ATT Editorial pages for Tax
Adviser.
The Association of Taxation Technicians was established in 1989 to provide a
taxation qualification and professional membership organisation for individuals
employed in industry, commerce and the public sector, as well as those employed in
professional practices. The Association is a companion body of The Chartered
Institute of Taxation.
