Weaver makes up two new senior tax managers
Weaver, the largest regional independent certified public accounting firm in the Southwest, recently announced the promotions of Carrie Hardison, CPA to senior manager of Tax and Strategic Business Services and Antonio “Tony” Rocha to senior manager of State and Local Tax Services.
Carrie Hardison, who offices in Fort Worth and has eight years experience in public accounting, was previously a manager in Tax and Strategic Business Services. Hardison’s practice emphasizes taxation compliance and consulting for corporations, partnerships and individuals with significant concentration in hedge funds, manufacturing, real estate and service industries. She is a member of the firm’s Financial Services industry practice and received the firm’s Tax and Strategic Services ACTION award in 2007. Her professional memberships include AICPA, TSCPA Fort Worth Chapter where she was a member of the Leadership Development Class of 2008 and Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural science and natural resources double majoring in accounting and agricultural economics from Oklahoma State University where she graduated as a College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Top Five Senior.
Weaver’s Tax and Strategic Business Services offers a full-range of tax compliance and planning to both businesses and individuals, including taxing authority representation, compensation planning, trust and estate tax return preparation, IRA distribution planning, stockholder reviews, inventory and LIFO studies, cost segregation, business acquisition and sale strategies, entity choice, 1031 tax-free exchanges, FAS 109 compliance and net operating loss utilization.
Tony Rocha, who offices in the firm’s Dallas location, was previously a manager in State and Local Tax Services. With more than 10 years experience in public accounting, Rocha’s practice focuses in compliance advising, planning and preparation of state local tax audits, performs managed audits and prepares voluntary disclosure agreements for companies. He has developed and supervised audit staff, assisted and consulted on sales and use-tax audits for retail, contractor, manufacturing and wholesale entities, as well as performed multi-state tax research. Prior to joining Weaver in 2007, Rocha was an independent consultant through his own firm. Before that, he was an independent contract auditor for the State of Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and was a former State of Texas Tax auditor. Rocha earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting control systems from the University of North Texas.
