Weichert enters expatriate tax market, leveraging off BDO USA resources
Weichert Workforce Mobility Inc., one of the world’s leading providers of corporate mobile workforce solutions, today announced that it has established a wholly-owned tax subsidiary, Weichert Mobility Tax Services, Inc.
As a licensed CPA firm, Weichert Mobility Tax Services, Inc. will offer a comprehensive suite of tax capabilities to its clients and their mobile employees, including tax preparation services for domestic and international assignees, tax advisory services and tax compliance services.
“The creation of Weichert Mobility Tax Services, Inc. gets us closer to our goal of providing a holistic assignee service continuum for mobility program owners and their mobile workforces,” said Aram Minnetian, President of Weichert Workforce Mobility Inc. “It also represents a superior value proposition featuring lower total cost of ownership, stronger global compliance, greater risk mitigation and a single point of accountability. Simply put, clients can now rely on the same Legendary Service they’ve come to expect from Weichert for the full suite of tax services delivered to their mobile workforce.”
As an independent member of the BDO Alliance USA, Weichert Mobility Tax Services, Inc. will leverage the resources of BDO USA, LLP, one of the nation’s leading professional services firms, to bring state of the art systems, training programs and consulting to clients. Weichert will also draw upon the size and experience of the international BDO network, the world’s fifth-largest accounting network with offices in 151 countries, to offer global tax services.
“Compliance is one of the most challenging issues facing the industry today and the stakes are getting higher for companies that are not compliant in tracking compensation and satisfying the global tax obligations of their mobile workforce,” said Matthew Pascual, Senior Vice President of Weichert Mobility Tax Services, Inc. “We’re changing the sourcing paradigm by integrating a comprehensive suite of mobility tax services — the same services companies might have thought were only available from a Big Four Accounting firm — to streamline the process and ensure better global compliance. Our new entity empowers clients to easily manage both the relocation and tax components of their mobility programs through one convenient contact point, but without the out-of-scope fees that can make Big Four engagements prohibitively expensive.”
The BDO Alliance USA also provides an optimal and affordable solution for mobile employees not covered under their employer’s mobility policy, who seek access to highly-trained professionals in multiple taxing jurisdictions.
“We believe all mobile employees should have the same opportunity to access expert tax preparation and tax advice, regardless of whether these critical services are covered by their company’s policy,” said Pascual.
“Weichert Mobility Tax Services, Inc. will provide Big Four-caliber tax services to our clients and their mobile employees in a streamlined way and at a fraction of the cost,” added Pascual. “Additionally, assignees will enjoy greater consistency of service and personalized tax insight from professionals who are already familiar with their relocation benefits and corporate policy.”
