Tracy Gomes strengthens Transfer Pricing & Economic capabilities at Gardere Wynne Sewell

Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP is proud to announce that A. Tracy Gomes has joined the law firm as its Chief Economist.

Mr. Gomes will be responsible for economic research, analysis and valuation of client matters. He will also assist the firm’s transfer pricing practice, providing analysis and valuation of intercompany transactions, as well as pricing planning studies for international tax strategies, and consulting services for dispute resolution initiatives.

Mr. Gomes joins the firm from Intellectual Property Economics, LLC, the Dallas-based valuation, tax and research services firm he founded in 2001. IP Economics specializes in IP for mergers and acquisitions, litigation, commercialization, transfer pricing and estate valuation, and providing advisory and valuation services related to FAS 141/142 and 123R statements.

 

Prior to opening IP Economics, Mr. Gomes served as a manager with KPMG. He began his professional career in the public sector, working as a financial economist with the U.S. Treasury Department, specializing in international tax research and foreign currency analysis. He also served as a senior economist for the Internal Revenue Service’s Advance Pricing Agreement program, developing several financial and IP valuation models.

Mr. Gomes earned a Master of Public Policy degree in International Economic Policy from the University of Michigan in 1988, and his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Davis, in 1981.
