PwC and Staley, Okada & Partners merge in BC
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Staley, Okada & Partners (SO&P) have announced that their practices will join together in British Columbia.
“We have a lot in common with PwC, such as culture, values, and strong client relationships,” said Larry Okada, SO&P Managing Partner. “Our clients will enjoy the same personalized service from largely the same people as in the past, but with subject matter experts and other resources from PwC’s network as needed, which is important in today’s complex regulatory environment. As members of the PwC team, our staff will benefit from increased opportunities and PwC’s excellent training and career development program.”
Both SO&P and PwC provide clients in British Columbia with audit and assurance, tax and advisory services from offices in Vancouver and Surrey. Combining the practices of the two firms builds on existing strengths and experience at both, particularly in the mining sector, privately-owned businesses, and the not-for-profit sector.
“PwC is very pleased to be combining forces with Staley Okada” said John Webster, PwC’s B.C. Region Practice Leader. “They have great people, an excellent reputation, and a strong practice. One driver for the agreement is the strong presence it creates in Surrey, where initially we’ll have about 50 people. We see Surrey and the Fraser Valley region as an area of strong growth in coming years, and we’re committed to being there to support that growth.”
