Tom Byng joins Mac Hud from Deloitte to lead R&D tax services

Tom Byng joined MacIntyre Hudson this month as a Tax Partner. He was previously with Deloitte in London.

Tom specialises in advising entrepreneurial businesses through all stages of their life, from starting up, through growth, reorganisation and expansion into new markets, and ultimately to exit. As a tax partner, he advises the company, the shareholders and prospective investors, to optimise their tax position in the context of their commercial objectives.

He has extensive experience in preparing and maximising R&D tax relief claims, and working with clients to understand how the patent box will impact them from 2013.

Tom recently spent six months working at HM Treasury as one of the founder members of the Office of Tax Simplification, helping to develop future tax policy and reduce compliance burdens on both businesses and individual taxpayers
